Problem
Herd management, field records, and operational reporting often live in disconnected tools. That creates inconsistent data, delayed decisions, and duplicate work in the field.
Delivered surfaces
- Web operations dashboard
- Mobile field app
- REST API and authorization
- Reporting and executive views
Approach
- I modeled web, mobile, and API layers around one domain language, with data structures following real field workflows.
- I designed permissions, teams, herd, and operations as independent but interoperable modules.
- For mobile usage, I prioritized offline tolerance and flows that can sync later.
Outcomes & Impact
- Field data becomes centralized so management, reporting, and task tracking live in one place.
- Role-specific simplified screens reduce onboarding cost for operational teams.
- The platform is prepared for a SaaS architecture where new modules can be added incrementally.

02What I Learned
- In products tied to the physical world, the data model has to be operationally correct before it is merely technically elegant.
- Offline-first is not a feature you sprinkle in later; if ignored early, it strains the whole product.
